LOGISTICS & EUROLOG 2010 congress will be entitled: The Logistics Challenge – flexibility, sustainability, innovation. Its aim is to draw attention of the importance of logistics for the European economy and its competitiveness in global markets: logistics is understood as harmonized, able to respond quickly to changeable environments and customers’ needs, innovative, quickly absorbing the results of developmental work, and at the same time being reasonably environmentally friendly. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of GS1 activity in Poland, the role of standards in logistics and supply chains has been emphasised, and GS1 President, Mr. Miguel Lopera will take part in the first plenary session. The framework of the Congress will be similar to that of previous events with two days of presentations and discussions in plenary and special topic sessions accompanied by a logistics exhibition (Wednesday 12–Thursday 13 May ) and workshops on specific issues (Friday 14 May ). Additionally, on Friday 14 May, ELA Research Day session will take place as an accompanying event to the Logistics & EUROLOG Conference. This session presents the achievements of European scientific centres (both academic and R&D) and was previously known as the Educators Day. As usual on Thursday 13 May, once the discussions are finished, it will be possible to join one of several technical visits to leading modern logistics and production companies in Poznań.
