The AFT, founded in 1957, is part of the AFT-IFTIM Group who is the leading organisation for training in transport, logistics and tourism. It represents 32 professional bodies and has 24 000 company members.
Its objectives are:
- to develop vocational training in transport and logistics for young and adults
- to provide training courses for the firms of the transport and logistics sectors
- to supply technical and educational support to the education and university system
- to participate in the definition and development of transport and logistics qualifications and approved vocational training diplomas as well as in the elaboration of training policies at national and European levels.
Through its Transport and Logistics Training Institute (IPTL), the AFT-IFTIM Group conducts studies and research that make it possible to anticipate changes in transport and logistics working practices and activities, within the framework of national and European research programmes. With its 2 000 employees, the AFT trains over 200 000 persons per year, within which 20 000 students.
